Meat & Seafood Packing Solutions
Burger patties, sausages, hot dogs and seafood portions — sealed tight on barrier film, built for cold lines.
Why Flow Wrapping for Meat & Seafood
Cold, wet product on high-barrier film — the pack has one job: hold the seal, all shift.
The Seal Is the Product
A leaker is a lost pack. Sealing mechanics get matched to the exact film and product condition, then validated at production speed.
Portions Stay Defined
Each pack is one patty, one sausage, one portion — ready for retail or foodservice cartons, counts that survive distribution. Richmond's 8-sausage flow-wrapped pillow pack is the format at national scale.
Long Formats Run Horizontal
Sausages and hot dogs convey straight into the wrap — the natural geometry for HFFS.
Barrier Film Done Right
High-barrier laminates seal differently from plain film. Film choice comes before machine structure, not after. The payoff is documented: Tyson's case-ready ground beef in flow-wrapped pillow packs reportedly halves plastic and energy versus tray-and-overwrap.
Compatible With Your Freezer
The wrapper drops sealed packs to IQF or cartonising — integration is designed in, not bolted on.

How to Choose a Meat & Seafood Packing Machine
Seven decisions frame the specification. Work them in order and the machine ends up matched to your product — not the other way around.
1. Product Type
Patty, sausage, hot dog or portion. Surface condition drives the sealing window — and bone-in cuts or shell-on seafood add puncture risk: guide the product through the infeed, and spec puncture-resistant laminates to keep cold-chain seals intact.
2. Throughput
Determine the freezer line's required output, then sustain it — wet lines expose oversized claims fastest.
3. Film Material
High-barrier laminates; sealing behaviour differs from plain film.
4. Seal Technology
Long-dwell sealing for barrier laminates, validated cold and wet.
5. Package Format
Portion singles or long formats; counts for foodservice cartons.
6. Hygiene and Food Contact
Wet-area construction, food contact and cold-room start are baseline specs here.
7. Configuration and Delivery
Integration with freezing and cartonising is designed in — spec it early.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is flow wrapping suitable for meat and seafood?
Yes — patties and portion singles wrap as defined units; sausages and hot dogs suit the long-format geometry. The engineering focus is sealing on cold, wet, high-barrier film.
Do you supply modified-atmosphere packaging?
MAP isn't a separate machine family — it's horizontal flow wrapping in a gas-flush configuration: protective gas is injected into the forming film tube to displace air before the seals close. It's a common route for fresh meat, sausages, and case-ready portions that need longer shelf life. If your product needs modified atmosphere, raise it with our engineers early — the barrier-film and sealing requirements it adds are exactly the details that shape the right machine specification.
How do you keep seals reliable on wet products?
Film and sealing parameters are validated together with the actual product at target speed — a seal that holds through a freezer warehouse, not just on the demo table.
What speeds are available for meat and seafood packing?
Configurations for this format span our full flow-wrapping range — 5 to 300 packs/min. The right class depends on your product, film and format; match speed to what your line actually sustains, not the headline number.
Why Path Pack
We start with the product, not the machine. Every project runs through the same nine-step engineering process — product, format, film, speed, feeding, sealing, structure, integration, testing — before a configuration is quoted.
Your product runs on real machines with your film at your target speed before anything ships. Cold, wet lines are the hardest test of a sealing system — which is why we test, not promise.
Evaluate your requirements with our online tools: the machine finder and bag calculator narrow the configuration before you ever talk to us.
